Project insights
The Kyiv International Cyber Resilience Forum is an annual event that brings together global leaders, innovators, and experts to address challenges in the cybersecurity industry. To promote the 2024 edition, the organizers required a secure, high-performance website that not only aligned with the forum’s brand identity but also provided visitors with seamless navigation through the agenda and event activities.
Quick launch
The website project had a strict deadline, with very little time left before the planned release due to the previous contractor agency's failure. Following the Shape Up methodology, I was able to deliver the initial version of the website in the shortest time frame possible. It took just 3 days, from the discovery call to the first launch, or 14 hours dedicated to design and development.
Unique agenda presentation
The event agenda had a multi-level structure, divided into two days and two stages. I developed a unique solution to present the agenda in the most user-friendly way, making navigation effortless and receiving positive feedback from event visitors and participants.
Secure by design
Given the event's focus on cybersecurity, securing the website was a top priority. This requirement played a key role in shaping the project’s technology stack and architecture. Built with the Gatsby SSG framework, the website has no open data source endpoints. All pre-generated assets are hosted on AWS’s CDN network, providing strong protection against DDoS attacks.
On-site solutions
The event organizer requested a solution for on-site agenda boards that would be synchronized with the website's data source and support real-time updates. This requirement arose due to the high probability of unexpected agenda changes. The dynamic agenda boards allowed visitors to stay up-to-date with real-time changes and simplified navigation between stages.
Looking ahead
The Kyiv International Cyber Resilience Forum website successfully met the event’s high demands for security, performance, and usability under tight deadlines. By leveraging a static site architecture, AWS infrastructure, and real-time agenda updates, the platform provided a seamless experience for attendees while ensuring top-tier cybersecurity measures.
